  • new install hangs in win10

A new install of skp18 with a new install of vray3.6 (latest) hangs and can only be stopped by forcequitting sketchup. Wibu is installed, license (dongle) is recognized. Renderwindow opens at 640x480 (cpu render), after which everything stops. The teapot has a red dot, the stopbutton on the window is grey. Nothing in the textline under the image. Machine (amd ryzen with gtx 1080) given a restart, but no change. What have I overlooked?

    Hi,

Does this occur with specific project or any (even newly created ones)? Are you using any other 3rd party plugins?

It is with any project. This one renders nicely on a mac with a host of plugins (but takes 80 minutes) while the hang is on a 100% clean and new install of skp18 an vray on win 10 on a amd ryzen 16 core set to cpu render installed today without any plugins (yet). The ryzen has rendered fine in skp17 with vray 3.6. The file was packed on mac and switched over. It might be the file lost some textures in packing (which it does most of the time when textures are hidden far far away in the library) (just found over 20 textures missing. Question stays why skp keeps forgetting to pack files in skp caches, while they are listed and found in the file path editor) Will try again tomorrow.

Repacked project with all textures green. Purged all. Mac renders all scenes ok. Win hangs on Sketchup: building scene 66% in windows. Other file runs ok.

Could you please share the project with us so we can investigate in detail? If this is alright, please send us an archived copy (Extensions > V-Ray > Pack Project) via email or a file-sharing service of your choice to support@chaosgroup.com
