  • interactive GPU Rendering taking long time to start and render

    Hello,

    My scene takes long time to start rendering using interactive GPU. It also takes long time to render and update render when I change things in the scene.

    When I hit render I also noticed that the graphics card performance rating only goes up to 10% so it feels like the machine is not really using its potential. I am wondering what is the problem?

    My graphics card is Quadro P4000 I am using low res (800 * 450 ) and turned on Material override I am also using fur on the scene for grass btw. Especially for interactive rendering I need faster feedback.

    I was wondering if anyone can advise how I can speed things up? Thank you very much.

    Best,

    Can you tell me what's the NVidia drivers version installed?
    Can you try to stop SketchUP, enable the GPU from "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\V-Ray for SketchUp\extension\tools\vray_gpu_device_select.ex e", start SketchUp and try again?
    Can you post the output of
    Code:
    set | find "VRAY_GPU_PLATFORMS"
    in CMD?

      1-Driver version is 26.21.14.3194 please find attached image for details.

      2- GPU is enabled through vray_gpu_device_select.exe

      3- The outfput of the Code:
      C:\Users\User>set | find "VRAY_GPU_PLATFORMS"
      VRAY_GPU_PLATFORMS=nvidia cuda quadro p4000 gpu index0;

      How can I definitively make sure the Gpu is being used for rendering?

        You can try MSI Afterburner or GPU Z to check the GPU load and if it gets engaged while rendering.
