  • Light analysis without false color

Latest Vray Next for latest SU - trying out the light analysis. But render turns out with no lux bar and no false colors (light gradient colors). The help docs says "set denoiser frequency to 100" but I do not have that slider !! is that the problem then ? or any other ideas please ? thanks

    Hi,

The Lighting Analyses element should appear in the VFB's elements stack (upper left corner - switch from RGB to Lighting Analyses).
If you want to see it update during interactive rendering you should set the Update Effects option to Rapid (Render Settings / Renderer / Update Effects).
After you have the element generated, all changes to its own options will not require re-rendering.
The element should update on every change.

Note: We should update our docs page. The option mentioned there used to be part of the Denoiser settings. It has been moved though since it now affects more than just the Denoiser.

WOW - thanks Konstantin - would never have found that. Now it works, and Yes - please update help docs. Seems it´s comprehensive for 3Dmax but for SU it leaves something to wish for. Regards from Denmark
PS. And might be good to add to helpdocs why it does not work with GPU render - or what the problem might be. GPU turns out pitch-black - CPU works fine.
