  • Spotlights and textures

    In Octane and Blender I often add textures to spotlights to create some effects, and I can then move both the camera view and spots around in realtime.

    I can also add textures to spotlights in vray, but as soon as I activate GPU render the texture diassapers. Is that an error or is that intended?

    Spotlight's Texture map, Affect Diffuse and Specular controls as well as Inverse cube decay are currently not supported in V-Ray GPU.

      Is this going to be implemented at some time or is it simply not technically possible?

        The task of GPU texture support for spot lights has not been re-prioritized yet. I'll make a note for our dev team to re-evaluate its priority.
