  • transparency of glass with denoiser - smudgy material behind the glass

    Hello,

iam just courios, how to setup glass material, that would be not bluried so much after denoiser ? the material behind glass is after denoiser so smudgy. I use hybrid rendering Cpu+Gpu and what i find is to set up "affect all channels" but thi seems doesnt work. Only way i cant make good result is with render elements and for denoiser i use photoshop.

Is here some other easiest way to get sharper material behind glass ?

I think this is something, that bother many of us

I attached picture with basic glass material.

    thank you

    Hello,

    Thank you for your question!
Denoising what is behind a refractive object is a bit tricky. To avoid the smudginess you've illustrated, please make sure:
    • the glass material's reflection does not affect all channels
    • the glass material's refraction affects all channels
This, however, would only help when using the CPU engine.
Our dev team will be notified of this particular denoiser behavior when using V-Ray GPU.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

thank you for answer... i try it and it look better /rendered with cpu+gpu/

it will be great, if you can manage to get better results in GPU rendering too .. because this way is renders very fast

one more question, i see beta for 3ds max, and you have implemented lightmix....and brand new VFB window.. so is possible to get this feature to vray 5 for sketchup in the future ?

Regarding a feature list of V-Ray 5 for SketchUp, all I can share at this point is it will contain some of the new additions showcased in the V-Ray 5 for 3ds max beta.
Detailed info will be available once a V-Ray for SketchUp beta phase launches.
In the meantime, any requests on new features and feedback on existing ones would be as always greatly appreciated!

        Kind regards,
        Peter
