problems with full screen on mac - vray 5

I'm trying to run vray 5 for sketchup on my mac but I'm having some problems working in fullscreen when I go to render and the frame buffer opens. So when I click to render the frame buffer pops up in a new fullscreen window next to sketchup (which is just as i want so i can slide between the 2) but for some reason when I go back to the sketchup window it's now totally blacked out, the tool palettes are there but everything else is totally black making everything totally unusable. The only way to get back to sketchup is to quit it from the dock..

This is happening in both sketchup 2020 and 2021 in both Catalina and Big Sur, I've also tried the latest hotfix 2 released yesterday with same problem in all combinations. Also tried disabling all other extension just in case... I contacted support a few days ago but haven't heard anything yet..

Also, not in fullscreen, if i go to minimise the frame buffer window (floating above the sketchup window), the sketchup window also disappears.. it's like their entangled!

Is anyone having any similar problems or have any idea why this may be happening? Thanks

Regarding the full-screen issue you're experiencing - I am unable to reproduce this with V-Ray 5 latest hotfix/SketchUp 2020 on Catalina. Would it be possible to describe the steps leading to this - does it happen with absolutely every project?
Could you forward us the V-Ray/neui logs so we can investigate? You can find them at ~/.ChaosGroup/V-Ray\ for\ SketchUp/VRayForSketchUp.log and ~/.ChaosGroup/V-Ray\ for\ SketchUp/vrayneui

Regarding the other issue (when minimizing the V-Ray Frame Buffer window) we're aware of that and we will let you know when a fix is ready.

Yes it seems to happen with every project I've tried, although it did randomly work once, but not again since even on the same project..

To recreate - open sketchup 2021 (or 2020), enter fullscreen(opens in a new space), click render - the frame buffer opens in a new space to the right of sketchup in mission control, go back to sketchup (either swipe across or via mission control), the model window is totally blacked out (as shown in the above pics).. can do a screen record if that helps?

How should I send you the logs? it says i'm not allowed to upload files ending in '.log'

*Also not in fullscreen mode - I'm surprised that you can't drag the frame buffer to a separate window also? although i guess this may be tied up with the minimising issue you mentioned?

The issue is already identified and scheduled. There is no need for further info at this point. Appreciate the time you took to report it!
Further improvements of the VFB window ordering (its apprarent pairing with the SketchUp window) are also planned.

Hello, wawmsey,

I would like to let you know that the issue is fixed with the latest hotfix - V-Ray 6 for SketchUp, update 1.1 (download link - http://download.chaos.com). A new option - "Parent Frame Buffer" is implemented. It is located in Extensions / V-Ray / Preferences / Parent Frame Buffer. Disable the "Parent Frame Buffer" option to view the V-Ray Frame buffer window on a second display or to switch between the SketchUp and VFB windows with the Mission Control.
