  • Continued Issues with Vision

I hoped that Update 1 would solve some issues I have with Vision but it seems to be going backwards. I'm on a Mac running Mojave and have tested both Sketchup 2020 and 2021 and get the same results. A simple scene with one cube won't link in Vision, only a black screen shows up and the link icon doesn't have the lines connecting the circles. Prior to Update 1, I could import a vrscene and it would work unlinked. Following Update 1, the folder icon is unresponsive. Vision seems to be stuck initializing, even if I leave it run for 15-20 min, it still displays initializing under fps in the upper right of the window.

I've investigated security permissions on the Mac OS side and there doesn't seem to be any conflicts. Just to also confirm that the issues aren't limited to this one machine, I did the same test on my MacBook Pro also running Mojave and the results are identical.

    Hi

Please note that currently, V-Ray Vision is not working on macOS Mojave. This has been logged into our internal bug-tracking system under VRT-418 and our developers are currently looking into it. I'll bump it's priority additionally and will let you know when there are any updates on the matter. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Thank's for the response. Hoping it'll make it through to the next update for me and all the other Mac users stuck on Mojave.

Hi guys. I'm trying to use Vray vision on my mac but when I open it it just shows a black screen, the dots don't connect and it keeps saying initializing. What can I do to fix this?

          Thank you !!

            Hi damz101,

Can you provide more details regarding the OS? You can share a screencap from the 'About This Mac' window dialog (from the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose About This Mac).
Have you used Vision on your machine successfully in the past? If so, do you recall making any software/hardware changes when the issue occurred?

Can you also share the vision.log file located in ~/.ChaosGroup/V-Ray for SketchUp/vision/vision.log so we can check for any warnings or errors printed? You can send it via our contact form, just make sure to mention this thread in the subject. Thanks!

              Thank you for the help.
