When I open "Start Live Preview" there is high CPU usage. When I select "Stop Live Preview" the CPU usage goes down.
This was not the case before. What could be the reason for this?

    Hi ecati

Stopping and starting the live preview will result in higher CPU usage initially, but it should drop down after a little while. See recording.

As the Preview Swatch is an actual render, it might require some additional computing power. Can you confirm if it is at 50+% for you all the time? Are you sure there are no other background processes that may be loading the CPU?

When using the live preview swatch, there are other ways to reduce resource usage – choose the resolution of the rendered swatch from 100% (1/1) (which is the best quality, but is a slower render), 50%(1/2), 25%(1/4) and 12.5% (1/8 ) (which trades off image quality for refresh speed).
The CPU/GPU switch ( ) allows you to change the render engine for the live preview. See if switching to GPU causes similar troubles.
