I'm really starting to lose the will to live with Vray and it's constant issues. So today I upgraded to v51002 and opened up a plain old drawing in SU2020 pro that only had Laura in it. Fired up Vray and went into a simple interactive RTX render. Took a while to compile the optix kernel and then we were off....... for a few seconds. Then the interactive render frozen, then it wouldn't run at all. Then I tried a non integrative progressive render and got a black screen with finished in the progress. Closed down SU and tried again and it seemed to work but honestly this is meant ot be commercial software right? You know the type you use to do paid work and not worry constantly if it's going to play up and make you look an idiot in front of your client. So fickle and with a 3950x, 64GB and a 3090 it's not like I'm lacking resources.

Hi jason_cafferty ,
I'm sorry to hear you had such experience with V-Ray.
I've seen such issues caused by specific Nvidia drivers lately.
There are a couple of questions that you can answer to help us track down and resolve such issues:- Does the same issue occur when you use the CUDA GPU engine? What about CPU?
- What is the NVIDIA driver version that you're on? I believe the one recommended for V-Ray is 461.09. 461.92 is another good option - I've been running it for a while with no issues whatsoever.
- Does the V-Ray render log show any errors or warnings? If yes, please share the exact message/s.
- Is the scene with Laura one of the default SU ones? If it has been modified in any way (saved by you) please share it for testing on our side?
Regards,
Konstantin

Hi, I've now gone over to the 51003 update and things are working soooo much better now. When I first installed Vray 5 it just worked smoothly when you asked it to do things. After the rebranding and new features etc it just "didn't" it was always laggy, hung and just felt unfinished. With the latest version that original feeling is back and very welcome.
