  • Vray renders have a feather/halo on them when imported to Paintshop pro.

I have set my render background as per this solution (https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...nt-backgrounds).

    e.g.

In VRAY the render looks great:

But when I import it into Paintshop Pro and do a backfill of black it has a transparent edge, which is not what is needed.

(I do have pictures of all of this, but when I try to upload them I get the following message: Missing PHP temporary folder; check upload_tmp_dir)

    Hi rusty_badge,

The people responsible for the forums have been notified and hopefully the problem will get resolved soon.

    As for your rendering issue:
If you have rendered upon a black background in V-Ray, there should be no hallo effect in the post processing app.
I'll have too take a look at the rendered image or your scene to help you further.

          Hi rusty_badge,

It is expected to see the hallo from the attached image in case you use something like a 'Paint Bucket' to fill the background.
The reason is the aliasing at the alpha border. It is actually a good thing. Without it the alpha border will be pixelated.

The proper way to do it is to create 2 image layers in the post processing app - the top one is your image, the bottom will act as a background.
You then fill the bottom with the desired color:
