  • Exception in CORE - newer driver than the lastest verified

I'm getting quite a lot of "Exception in CORE", where I have to restart Sketchup.

In the process window it's stated that the driver is newer than the verified one. Will it help me to downgrade the driver? where do I see which version is verified? - would it be possible to include that info in the error message?

Is there anything else I can do to reduce these errors?

    Hello, Jorgensen_cg!

Please downgrade to: Recommended NVIDIA driver for V-Ray GPU is version 461.09 and give us feedback.
If the issue still persists, we will continue the investigation.

    Waiting for your answer.

    Best regards,

Ok - thanks TS, I will try that.

How would I normally find the driver information if I start from https://www.chaosgroup.com/ ?

      Thanks

Go over the blue text in my previous post - it is a hyperlink and you will see.

But I will post it again as https://www.chaosgroup.com/vray-gpu to be more visible at first glimpse.

I have installed the verified driver, but I still get some errros like this one
          C:\gitlab\builds\BN6RPFxu\0\aec\appsdk-builder\cgrepo\vraysdk\s(1549) : CUDA error 700
          C:\gitlab\builds\BN6RPFxu\0\aec\appsdk-builder\cgrepo\vraysdk\s(1549) : CUDA error 700
And when I get them, I can't stop Vray - pressing the start / stop button in asset editor or in fram buffer has no effect, and I have so save the file, shutdown sketchup, and start again.
Is there a way to shutdown vray without the need of restarting Sketchup? I'm really wasting a lot of time - not saying it is caused by Vray, I guess Sketchup generates a lot of bad geomery, and I might also being doing something wrong, or my hardware might have issues.

Is there anything I can do to aviod that?

            Hi Jorgensen_cg,

Thanks for the follow-up. Are these errors happening in a specific project, or do you get the same with any? If it is project-specific, please forward it through our contact form (you can use the Pack Project tool from Extensions > V-Ray > Pack Project) so we can troubleshoot.
If not, you can still get in touch with us so we can schedule a remote session and investigate on the spot. Much appreciated!

              Dear Jorgensen_cg, hello.

Thank you for the provided files.
The error isn't reproducible in our environment, I have double-checked it on different configurations.
              Please define:
              1. Are you using Production or Interactive rendering? (the scene was saved with Interactive ON)
              2. Are you using Swarm? (it was also ON)
              3. Have you tried reverting settings? Please after that switch to CUDA to perform the test!
              4. Have you tried Bucket rendering mode instead of Progressive?
About your Hardware you could perform some benchmark tests: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...FaultyHardware

In conclusion, try this steps and share the results.
              We are here to help.

same problem here, i try many other nvdia drivers and didnt help. In vray 5 i can render only in progressive mode, with bucket i get this problem - cuda error 700

Bucket works only with new files - i try it with some models from vray cosmos but when i open older file created with vray next, problem starts.

In vray next i have no problems.

Great, thank you for following the test advice.

Just now an update was released. I have tested your scene with it on a similar configuration in our office and it worked fine.
Could you try it and confirm?

Dear Jorgensen_cg, please define are your experiencing this only in scenes created with V-Ray Next (as zazracnedieta does).
This will be helpful to clear out is the issue similar or not.

Please check the newest update and if the issue persists we will need the details from my previous post.

Tsvetomira, i try new update 3 /build 51004/ and it works OK with no problems, so this problem was only in builds 51002 and 51003
