Endless issues with failed renders out of mem

I keep on getting issues across multiple models where my render terminates and has the following message or a version of it. Failed to allocate 349777008 bytes, device 0, buffer default bufname

C:\gitlab\builds\BN6RPFxu\0\aec\appsdk-builder\cgrepo\vraysdk\s(2590) : CUDA error 2 : unable to allocate enough memory to perform the requested operation (out-of-mem)

I think my system should be up to it - i have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB Graphics Card,

Intel Core i5-9600K CPU, 6 Cores / 6 Threads, 3.7 - 4.6GHz SKU CM8068403874404S
32GB DDR4 2666MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks)

I have made everything I can a proxy and still no joy!

any help would be much appreciated.

I realise this is an issue with RTX - it with and can render with CPU but its very very slow!

Hi boundary,

You may be running out of VRAM, you should monitor the GPU usage just to confirm whether or not that's the case. Moreover, you can go through our article on Memory Usage Optimizations for GPU Rendering here.

I will forward the scene but it is likely top be huge with all its proxies - VRAM doesn't seem to be a problem - I am hoping its not the case that I am forced to use the cloud rendering as this has a financial implication.
