  • Animation cut short - 'Finished'

Hi there guys, I am trying my first animation using Vray, I have done a few small tests and everything seemed fine. I set a very small output size last night to see whether I could have a look at the animation (641 x 316). Everything was running fine for 3 or so hours then I went to bed (it was up to frame 220 or so at this time - and rendering 1-2 frames per minute) This morning I awoke to the render window saying 'finished' but it had only rendered to frame 518 of 937. Would anyone have any idea what could have gone wrong? Thanks very much in advance, Nick

    Hello, Nick,

It is almost impossible to tell without some additional details.
Did you manage to check the render log for errors or warnings?
If you start another render process from frame 518 onward does the problem reoccur? (Custom frame range can be manually set - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ion-Parameters)

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Thanks Peter, I understand that was quite vague, and I failed to look at the render log. As I have finished for the day I am rendering again now to see what happens (the model has changed since the last one) so if it happens again I will save the render log and also check out the custom frame range link you sent - thanks for the reply and I will keep you posted, Cheers, Nick

        Thank you for the update!
Will be looking forward to any additional info if this problem troubles you again.
FYI, we currently have no known outstanding issues related to animation sequence rendering.

Hi there Peter, just an update, after the first one cutting short, I have since rendered all frames twice over at different resolutions and have had no issues running through all 1100 frames. So it must have just been a random bug my end! Thanks again for the reply
