  • Vray frame buffer - interactive render issue

Ever since upgrading to the latest version of Vray for sketchup, I can use the interactive render and the VFB works as it should. When I stop the rendering and make sure modifications to the model and then go to render again, the VFB will not maximize. It shows on the task bar but I cant get it to come back. I have tried Alt/ tab. I also tried deleting the framebufferstate.fbs. The only way to resolve the issue is to close and reopen the file. This happens with all files.

    Hey gary_ledgerwood,

Can you confirm the exact OS? Testing on a simple scene, it looks like the VFB window is returning. Is it possible to provide a screen recording with the issue, so we're sure we follow the same steps? Does it happen exclusively when you're using Interactive? Have you tried re-installing?

One way you could try bringing it back is to select it from the task bar, right-click on it and select Move. You can try moving it with the keyboard arrows and see if that changes anything.

Alternatively, we can arrange a remote session to investigate on the spot.

I am running Windows 10 Pro with the latest updates. It seems to be just with Interactive but I am not certain. I start and stop interactive way more often than regular renders. I just tried to run a regular render while the frame buffer is missing and it doesn't bring it back. As you can see from the screen recording, I dont have the option to right click and move from the taskbar. When I alt-tab through the windows you can see the frame buffer and it just white but it wont come forward. Not sure if it is locked up or what. I have tried reinstalling and will try one more time...

        Hey gary_ledgerwood,

Is it just a single monitor you're using?

Would it be possible to drop us a line via our contact form so we can schedule a remote session to troubleshoot this on the spot? Please make sure to mention this thread (or my name) in the form subject, thanks!

I submitted a request and will let you troubleshoot. Thanks! I am using two monitors but it doesnt show on either. Definitely something weird going on. I can close the frame buffer and reopen and it is still permanently minimized.
