    Hi,

Why is CONTOUR render element is BlackBackground/GrayLinese...
V-Ray is currently only able to extract grayscale information from the contours/lines in your render.
This means that there is no good way to add colorful contours in post.

I'll actually log a feature request in our bugtracking system for improving the contours render element as a whole.
If you have a specific workflow in mind, please share it and I'll take it into consideration.

Thank you for bringing my attention back to this.

    Konstantin

Sorry but how do I see "Logged as - SK-3590"?
I don't think we understood each other. My question is why the contour render element turns out to be a gray outline and the background is black! I expected there to be black lines on a white background! If there was a white background and black outline lines then a layer could be added over the final render and contours added. You actually need to make an invert contour render element!
Or maybe better asked. How do we subsequently add contours in post-production, either photoshop or VFB2?

        and Compensate EV

        thank you

          Hi kiklama,

What I actually did is logged a feature/improvement request in our internal bug tracking system.
The request number is SK-3590 (something internal that helps us keep track and a reminder to post in this thread once we improve the behavior).
We'll basically look into ways of improving the render element letting you do more in the future.

          Regards,
          Konstantin
