  • Issue with Vray Vision, Materials,

Hi everyone. I finally got V-ray vision to work on my mac by upgrading to Mojave 14.6. However I think im having another issue. The materials and geometry like fur doesn't seem to generate when I open vray vision. The hydra is also blurry. I've attached two photos Regular rending using vray and an image from V-ray vision. it is completely off. I hope I can get some help with this.

    Thank!

    Hi damz101,

The materials and geometry like fur doesn't seem to generate when I open vray vision.
Fur is still not supported in Vision.
In the next update we'll implement a way for grass to be generated.
It will look different from the Fur that V-Ray renders but should work well in most cases.

Is it possible for you to share your project for testing?
It will be much easier for us to find the cause for the material differences this way.

    Thank you in advance,
    Konstantin

It seems I need a password to download the file (you can share it in DM).

              Hi damz101 ,

We are currently looking into the HDR issue.
I just have to note that big images like the one you're using get automatically downsized in Vision for performance and memory efficiency reasons.
It is however obvious that the aliasing in your background image is quite bad and can potentially be improved.
I'll get back to you when we make progress.

We also looked into the fact that it takes a long time for your scene to be loaded in Vision.
It turns out it's the animation causing this.
To evaluate the entire animation we have to ask SketchUp for the camera position in every frame and the response takes a while.
We will do our best to optimize this as well.

As for the Grass - I loaded the scene with our internal build (one including the grass support) and it looks great.

              Regards,
              Konstantin

Ok thank you. I hope to see these improvements in an update soon . Vray is bar far the best render when it comes to realistic rendering software.Being able to create animation/walkthroughs would put you guys over the top!!
