  • Virtual staging - issue with wrapper material

    Hello everyone !

I´m struggeling with this problem since yesterday. I´ve started work on this project couple of months ago. Never faced this kind of problem and I can´t figure it out how to fix that. Basicly, It´s vritual staging, where you can find two objects, light sources (rectangal, sphere, dome light, sunlight) and planes with applied wrapper material. Yesterday´s night I turned on batch render as usually, but it was interrupted by system update. I dont know if this incident could be somehow related to the issue. But afterwards, when I tried to turn the render on again, suddenly the wrapper material is green. No setting have been changed since the time before the batch render.

Does anyone know what could be wrong? I will be very grateful for all the advice

    Thank you.

    Hi mpcz,

This is the second time I'm hearing about this issue but I can't find a way to reproduce it.
Can you please share the project you used for testing so that we can investigate further.

    Thank you in advance,
    Konstantin

      Hi Konstantin,

thank you for responding. Finally, I´ve "solved" this issue by exclusion method. Step by step I´ve tried to turn off or reload each segment of settings. It was caused by some of render elements (I couldn´t find any option how to separate render channels in sketchup´s v-ray to not directly affect the final render result, like in 3ds max). When I delete them and re-load them, the green issue is gone. However, when save the scene file and re-open it, the issue is back. So I have to do all these steps again to solve the issue. Other scenes with exactly same setup and materials, but in different photomatch work well. It´s weird. It seems like the file was somehow corrupted by that sudden reboot.

In what format would you like to upload the project? Just .skp or?

          Hi mpcz,

          An .skp is perfect.
You can use any free file sharing service.
If you prefer to keep the file private just send me the link in a direct message.

I hope the issue will be reproducible on our side and that we'll be able to resolve it quickly.

          Thank you in advance,
          Konstantin

            Hi mpcz ,

Would like to confirm this issue is not reproducible with the latest V-Ray 5 for SketchUp (v5.20.06).

            Kind regards,
            Iva
