  • Spiraling effect when rendering cylinder

I'm wondering why I keep seeing this spiraling effect on these guitar strings. I'd include some settings but I've changed almost everything I could think of multiple times with the same effect. I've used different textured materials (metals) and have tweaked the texture placement settings. I've used simple colors and added the meatless factor of 1. I've softened the edges of the strings (cylinder) nothing seems to work. If someone can point me to a setting that might be the problem I can attach some additional screen shots of those settings. But every setting I've tried has no effect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's simply an antialiasing problem due to the fact that the lines are very thin and almost vertical. Try to rise the image resolution and/or use better antialiasing.

Thanks. I did raise the anti aliasing number. And it did help some. But you mentioned finding a better antialiasing and I could not find any any documentation about the different filter types and what each one does as compared to the others so I had and still have no idea which one to choose. So I left it on the default and just raised the number. Better documentation would be helpful.

        Hi blueman26,

Can you share a simplified version of the scene so that I can do some tests with it?

        Regards,
        Konstantin
