Camera_parallel view

Hi,
I wonder if someone can help with the following issue. Whenever I add a scene (interior close-up)and work on the view…. The moment I change the camera view from the perspective to parallel it sends me off far away and changes the view to exterior.
I just can’t find any explanation to that. Even when I check the camera view and position. That seems to be fine.
