Blackout screens when rendering on Medium and higher mode/ Cuda and RTX _VRAY for Skecthup 2021

Hi Team - can you please help me.

I have two GPU's RTX 3080. Tuff and Zotac Gaming.

I have experienced numerus blackout screens when rending with RTX mode. Also tried Cuda mode but can not set higher then Low+ when rendering. If the setting is higher after a couple of mins my screens goes black. I can still hear the GPU's render and PC running in background but my screens are black.

I tried to problem solved by checking cables/ updating graphics drivers / updating windows/ deleting NVidia cache files/ updating DirectX and monitoring the temp of the GPUs to see if it goes higher then 100 degrees. It does reach about 87 degrees. Fans work at 100% and there is enough power supply.

Please assist. Have you come across this issue before?

Very difficult to finish projects on time.

    Hey waldob

    Thank you for your post.
This looks like a hardware issue on your side. Keep in mind that for Ampere GPUs you need to keep the temperatures below 80 degrees
At 81 degrees the GPUs will thermal throttle and you get decreased performance. There are quite a few things you could do to fix this
-Undervolting your GPUs could be helpful, with something like MSI AfterBurner. Check out my video on this process, this will decrease temperatures by about 10 degrees
-Better airflow in your case if possible, removing the side panel of the case could help. Having better/more fans if possible

Then use the benchmark tool to check your temperatures and verify the scores of your GPUs

Make sure you are on the recommended Nvidia studio drivers, 526.98

    I hope this helps

    Best,
    Muhammed
