  • Vray for Sketchup 2023 lights are still visible from section cut.

After instaling new Vray for Sketchup 2023 lights in render shows up even they are supposed to be cut within section plane. I've rendered the same scenes with Vray 2022 - it was ok. Now I'm supposed to hide the lights, but that's not ok because the I still need the lighting.
    Thanks in advanced.

Thank you justina_miiulyt for sending the scene to us which helped to locate the issue.

In the V-Ray 6 Mesh Lights are not clipped by Section Plane unless Clip Light Geometry option is enabled in the Section Plane settings. The issue is logged as SK-4251 in our internal system.

Anyone encountering the same please try to enable Clip Light Geometry as a workaround for now.

      Hello justina_miiulyt,
      Thank you for posting.

From your render it seems that the Section Plane intersects with the light sources.
Please try to move it a bit further to make sure that Section Plane is positioned outside of the objects. If for some reason it still does not work as it should you could try to create a new Section Plane and see if it works correctly.

Let me know if any of this helps.

Hello, Natalia, I'm advanced Vray and sketchup user.
These scenes have been rendered with previuos Vray 2022 version with absolutely no issues. Issues started with the update of Vray 2023. All the lights outside section plane are still visible. I've tried to create a new Section plane but it didn't work.
Hope I'll get some more sugestions, because all of my scenes has a lot of light sources that I need, though without showing in render.

Thank you justina_miiulyt for checking my initial suggestion. I have tried to reproduce the issue with SketchUp 2022 and 2023 versions in a simple scene but with no success so far.

Have you encountered it in one of your projects but with several scenes (camera views)? Another suggestion would be to try to create a new scene.

Also, I wanted to confirm with you if you have updated only the SketchUp version? Were you previously working with V-Ray 5 or V-Ray 6 and SketchUp 2022?

It would be helpful if you could share your scene with us to test it further. If this is alright please open a ticket and upload it using this submit request form. Please make sure to archive your scene with Pack Project Tool (Extensions>V-Ray>Pack Project).

          Thank you in advance.

I'm curently using SketchUp 2022 with V-Ray 6. The issues began with the instalation of Vray6. First of all some of Vray materials rendered black (flooring, HDR sky) even after downloading new Vray library, I needed to manualy chang them. Then I've noticed the issue with lights and section planes. Yes, I've tried to change scenes and even render some random position - lights are showing no matter what. I'll try to send you the model for a look.
