  • V-Ray Vision Animation Render Producing Small Black Dots Where Over-exposed

    Hello All

I can't seem to find any other posts/responses regarding this issue.

I have been rendering out SketchUp animations through the Vray Vision (mainly because its quicker for concept renders) and have been coming across this issue where these these little black dots keep popping up wherever there seems to be an "over-exposed" area or a full white area. It's been happening for the past few exports and it's starting to get irritating as I am not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Please see attached a few screenshots below.

Looking forward to hear some suggestions.

    Thanks so much!

    Hello sally_wilson,
Thank you for your post and examples.
The issue is logged in our internal system as VRT-744 and I will link your forum post to it.

Please note that artifacts are mostly present in the overbright areas. As a workaround you could try the following:
    • In Vision settings under Camera change EV Compensation to lower values like -1 or -2 so your image (animation) will be darker.
    • Export video with these settings and check if there are artifacts or not.
    • Open this video in Chaos Player.
    • Adjust Exposure under Color Correction to brighten it the way you like.
    • Save your video > File > Export Composition Sequence ( you can select different formats to export including .webm like in Vision)
Let me know if this worked for you.
