  • V-Ray toolbar icons missing even though enabled

    My office is switching to SketchUp 2023, however, upon installing V-Ray the toolbar icons did not appear automatically as they usually do. They are checked in the toolbar menu and should be appearing, but they are not. I don't have any other screens and have checked behind the SketchUp window, they are not docked or floating offscreen as far as I can tell. I have currently setup some hotkeys to open the asset editor etc. but this is not a long-term solution. I have also reinstalled V-Ray twice with no change.

    Please help!

    Hello bbergem,
    Thank you for your post.

    Can you please share the following:
    • Exact V-Ray build currently used. A screenshot of the About V-Ray window will be sufficient.
    • Are you able to render without getting any errors? By the way, as a workaround you can also access all V-Ray tools from Extensions>V-Ray.
    • Please try to also check the V-Ray option from the list (example).
    Also please test following steps:
    • Disable V-Ray Extension from Extensions > Extension Manager;
    • Restart SketchUp;
    • Enable V-Ray Extension again.
    Do the toolbars appear after that? If not, perhaps we could arrange a TeamViewer session in order to take a look directly at your machine. In order to receive TeamViewer instructions please open a ticket to our 3D Support Team and we will be able to schedule the time and date.

      A possible cause of this issue was recently discovered. If you work on two displays and then switch to using a single one, some SketchUp toolbars may disappear, including V-Ray's.
      To restore them, open your display settings while having more than one display attached and rearrange their position, e.g. if display 2 was on the left side of display 1, switch them around.

      Alternatively, try toggling off and back on the System > Display option "Remember window locations based on monitor connection":
