  • SketchUp crash closes every time after running a render

SketchUp 2023.1.303 for Windows10 and VRay for SketchUp 6.10.02 - I get a crash close whenever I close SketchUp after running a VRay rendering. This has been around for a while and I have reported the BugSplats to Trimble but I thought I should report here too.

    Hi,
for information I'm back to version 23.0.419
I totally abandoned version 23.1.303 which crashed systematically for me too. I don't think this is due to V-Ray.
There are several cases and discussions on the Sketchup forum. It seems that Sketchup has found the solution and updated Sketchup to version 23.1.340.
I haven't tested it and am in no hurry to do so.

Have you tried downgrading your version of Sketchup to 23.0.419 ?

          Hello ValeroStudio,
          Thank you for the report.

Could you please share crash logs with us as well?
          • Before saving please go to V-Ray > Help > About V-Ray > V-Ray Asset Editor Session Log and locate the corresponding vrayneui.log file for the current session: example attached.
          • When you get a Bugsplat click on View Report details and collect all logs that are listed there (SketchUpLog.log, Bugsplat.log and dmp file). They are located in the %AppData%\Local\Temp folder. (%AppData% can be accessed like this: copy it in the path and hit Enter.)
Apart from that please add a screenshot of Extensions Manager to check what extensions you have currently enabled. Could you test disabling all additional Extensions except for V-Ray and see if the crash will happen again and let us know?

Also, please confirm if you updated SketchUp to 23.1.340 version?

          Thank you in advance.

            Hello ValeroStudio,
Thank you for sharing the logs!

I wanted to let you know that an internal issue (SK-4480) with this crash has been logged. We will notify you once there is any news.
As we have discussed, make sure to save your scene before closing SketchUp to avoid losing any progress.
