  • CUDA render issues - RTX fine, CUDA is seriously wrong

    Hi there,

    In the past couple of weeks my colleagues and I are all experiencing the same rendering issues. We are all running 30 series GPUs with the latest drivers. Vray is varying between 2.1 & 2.2. When any of us render only with RTX all works but takes longer. When rendering recently like we always have with CUDA for speed we have been getting black images on Opacity textures and mirror (reflective) materials are really wrong...amongst other texturing issues etc

    Is this happening with recent updates in software and or drivers for anyone else and have any experience with this one. It's strange it's happening to all of us on similar configurations software and hardware wise

    Thank you

    Hello ryan_keylock1,
    Welcome to the Chaos Forum!

    Could you please share the scene in question for a review in order to determine if the geometry you are rendering is solid or one-sided.

    If this is alright, please submit a request form and upload the archived scene in the ticket. To do so make sure to archive it with the Pack Project tool (Extensions>V-Ray>Pack Project tool). Together with it please share information from your machine where you reproduce the issue:
    • Exact V-Ray version (check About window V-Ray for SketchUp);
    • A screenshot of the Task Manager > GPU Tab with graphics card specifications: example;
    • Render results with CUDA and RTX.
    Thank you in advance.
