  • Issue Downloading Materials from V-Ray Cosmos to SketchUp 24

    Hi everyone,

I'm using SketchUp 24 with V-Ray for renderings, and I've encountered an issue when trying to download materials from Cosmos. Some materials, like "wall paint white matte 300 cm," are not loading properly into the SketchUp library. Instead of the material, I only see a default image with four grey squares.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue or know how to fix this?
I've made sure both SketchUp and V-Ray are updated, tried downloading the materials again, and checked the file paths for the materials, but the problem persists.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello anat_behrman
Is the issue visible in the V-Ray Asset Editor, or do the squares appear in the SketchUp viewport? Can you share a screenshot with these squares? In addition, it will be helpful to share what V-Ray and Cosmos versions you use.

      Hi,

I'm using SketchUp 2024 (version 24.0.484 64-bit) with V-Ray 6.20.06. The issue is that the material appears as grey squares only in the SketchUp viewport. The material renders fine, but it's very inconvenient to work this way.

Here’s a screenshot for reference. Thanks for your help!

        Hi anat_behrman,
Some V-Ray materials may not be previewed in the Materials tab due to their specific characteristics. For example, the Wall Paint White Matte 300cm may not be visible because the Diffuse Slot does not contain a texture. Only materials with Diffuse textures can be visible in the Materials tab.
