Hi all,

I am very pleased so far with the beta and slowly work my way up the learning curve.

The following problem occured when applying a bitmap in the bump slot.
Sketchup immediately crashes when i want to update the material view every time or when i try to render.

I am using a .jpeg image grayscaled.
Is this the wrong file format for bump maps or is bump mapping still a bit buggy in the beta?

After retrying with other images it does seem to work.
Maybe it's the color space of the bumpmap texture?

For the record: The crashes most of the time happen when you want to apply them to a l'inked' material.

I've only had this happen occasionally.

One thing I would suggest to all here is to make bump maps of your regular SU materials. I know I looked at a scene frome biebel and appplied his map as a bump and had some interesting inverted bump occuring.
