  • Adding Vray lights

    hi all!
Sorry that my first appearance is to report a bug, but i'm SO sad :'(

I tried to add a Vray light, following the instructions of the user manual... (I know they're important to light up interior scenes for i've been an user of Vray for 3ds..)

So, i add a light. Ok. Right click, edit. Ok. I adjust the parameters, i click OK and....Sketchup aborts!!! :'( :'( :'(

so, basically, i cannot add any Vray light in su. More precisely, i actually can add a light, but i cannot edit it. And this is a BIG bug for me. Also considering that the trial version lasts only 30 days...

    Re: Adding Vray lights

Yes I recently got a report of something similar in our support email account. I'm not sure you are the same person or not - but maybe you could provide some more information about your setup. What version of SketchUp, etc.

          Re: Adding Vray lights

Now VfSU can't use IES light information at the moment. That is planed for our next full release though. In the mean time you really can't fake them since IES lights control not only intensity but colors and distribution patterns. You can use brighter lights that will be approximately the same intensity though
