  • Material rendering as a different material

So I'm rendering a model that has wood siding on an exterior wall. My client wants to see the same image but replace the wood siding with a gray stucco. I change the material in sketchup but it still renders as wood siding. I've made sure the surface doesn't have materials applied to both sides and that the group is set to the default material. If I create a new surface and apply the gray stucco, the new surface renders as stucco but the original surface still renders as wood siding. I've noticed this on other models as well, where if I change the material of an object, it still renders as the previous material. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Is this not an issue with other users? I'm running into this on every model I open.

you have to change the material through vray's material editor or r-clic vray for sketchup > apply material not through sketchup. This should work.

I though the best way to apply materials is to apply them in SU and link them as a V-Ray material. I only run into an issue when I want to change a material to something else. If I start from scratch and assign a material, things are all good.

yes, the best way to apply materials is to apply them in SU and link them as a V-Ray for new materials, but if you want to assing (to new geometry) or change this linked material, you should do it through vray's way.
