  • Help ! Perforated material not transparent in Vray.

Hi, I did a mesh for a computer backside fans and used VraylinkedMtl and it works just fine, except the transparence. What I did wrong and how to fix it.

I've added an internal red light and really want to see it passing throught the mesh...

Below two images, one from the reder result and other from the material editor.

Further help will be very appreciated.

As it looks like after rendering:

The config I used (what I messed up?):

    Thank you very much !

V-ray won't read the the alpha channel from png. You'll need to generate the alpha map, apply the diffuse map and the alpha map to another layer in the linked material, and set the transparency of the SU material to completely transparent.

I've tried to do the same thing with a png image and get some transparency, but the mesh appears like a translucid plastic, without the holes. (What could be the problem in this case?)

This time I didn't it using a png, but a VraylinkedMtl, this way:

      1. step

      2. step

There's any solucion for this or may I return to png translucid plastic? I really want this look like a computer mesh you knonw?!

Thank you very much for your support,
