  • HDRI GI and Backgrounds/Distributed Rendering

There was an existing string about this subject, but its been inactive since last August and I didn't see a solution posted.

I'm trying to teach myself about the full capabilities of V-ray and am having a problem with using HDR images while using distributed rendering. The slave machines are returing black boxes while the host machine is rendering OK. I get the same results when 'asset collection' is set to either 'send to shared folder' or 'send to node'.

I'm attaching a jpeg of my system and camera setting as well as a .txt file of the Render Progress Log. (I X-ed out our IP addresses) I checked and didn't see any error messages about the image files.

Is it possible to use HDR images with the distributed rendering system?

    Thanks,

This is because of HDR images "Multiplier" is low.I suggest you to try it increase this number to 100000 and return to render it.You should select the "environment" typ of mapping.

Thanks, but that wouldn't explain why the parts of the rendering that are executed on the host system are OK, and the parts that appear on the slave systems are black....

I am sorry my English is poor.I am a Chinese.Fortunatly,I have apprehended your problem.
I am think that the slave machines get the data from host machine. This data and HDR images has not related. Why? I do not think that is Bug of V-ray .It is possibly mistake of your seting fo share file.I suggested you that try to use other files ro set other machin as host machin.
        Wishes you good luck.

The slaves need to have the same file extension to the Image as the Host! my first guess?!?!

if not then it will return a blank input as it can't find the source!?!
