  • New Release of V-ray does not render sun direction and shadows as per viewports?

    Hi,

I've installed the latest upgrade of vray for SU, and noticed that the renders that come out always render sunlight from the same direction no matter how I change the time or month in SU.

I'm guessing this is to do with my pre-saved render Options that I have been using since the first release of Vray?

Please advice what I can do to get the Sunlight/shadows rendered as per View...

    Thanks

I had that problem with the first release. At least it sounds like it. I have to keep going to the Enviroment rollout in Options and update the Sky map.

Yep, I hate this bug- especially as it coincides with SU6's crappy scene shadow settings bug which at one point took me 10 tries before VRay used the correct shadow settings. BTW, I just untick "Override Sun's parameters" and tick it again (haha, now that's a simple bug!)- that usually does the trick.

Hitting Apply seem to work fine as well.

I'm having trouble getting the sunlight and shadows to appear as strong crisp lines. I'm rendering an interior space that has large skylights in the ceiling using only the sketchup sun as a lightsource. When i hit render it looks good in progress but then when it goes into pre-pass mode it washes out all the strong shadows and light streaks... Anyone knows why this happens?
