  • Rendering issue when trying to output high res. images

I've recently been trying to render images large enough to print on poster size paper. But it's happened many times now that i get a preview of gibberish in the frame buffer when i do this.

Sorry cant seem to post an attachment someting about the upload server is full??.

I've tried restarting the computer, restarting sketchup, reloading my visopts but all no no avail..does it have to do with the size.. is there a size limit? Ive gotten the problem when trying to render at 3600 pixels as well as 6000 pixels.... funny thing is that one computer in my lab can render the same scene off the same file at 6000 pixels with no problem... but 3 other computers give me this error... all 4 computers a identical.

Would appreciate any insights you all have.

    Thanks!

Hi Res images are meant to be render with VRimage. In many cases that is the only way that you will be able to actually get them to finish. Please look at the large resolution tutorial for information.

The reason why the framebuffer is going haywire is because v-ray know that it will have to conserve as much memory as it can for the actual rendering. Therefore, the feedback to the framebuffer (which is extraneous to the actual render process) is compromised. Believe it or not, if you actually get through rendering the image (which isn't 100% bc of memory usage) you will still have a good image, even if the framebuffer looks like crap. The best way though is to render to vrimage, and most of the time, its the only way to get hi res done.

Look at the tutorial and search the forum. This has come up a number of times, so there's good info out there for you.
