  • Crash- Parameter is incorrect

We have had 7 reports of an error message that will occasionally pop up that says "Parameter is incorrect". We have had it occur while doing a variety of actions, but so far it only seems to have happened to 7 people. We know that there are more than 7 people that are using the latest version of our product, but oddly we have not heard a lot about this error. We're looking for some sort of common connection between the bug reports, but so far nothing seems to stand out. We would really like to fix this error, but despite our best efforts, we have been unable to reproduce this bug here at our office. I've even tried installing SU and our plugin on computers that have never had either piece of software installed on them. I've tried doing upgrades, installing various versions, opening old scenes, starting new scenes... No matter what I try I can't get this error to show up for me so I can take a peek at it.

If anyone else out there has seen this error message, and has not filled out a bug report (I said bug report, not forum post) about this issue, please click the link below and fill out a bug report with a description of how you are able to make this error message appear. In the message subject, type "Parameter is incorrect", just so we are able to easily keep track of all of these reports.

Other useful information you could include in the bug report:
-Basic hardware information (you don't need to go in to too much detail, but a little information
-Software versions and configurations. This is very important. The version of SketchUp, your operating system, and the version of our product are especially important.

Below is an example of what would be an ideal report on your computer's setup:
    Hardware
    Motherboard: MB DFI LP[UT]nF4 SLI-DR Exp NF4 939
Graphics Card: PNY Nvidia Quadro FX1400 PCI-E
    Processor: AMD 64 |4400+ ATHLON X2 939
    Memory: OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit

    Software
    Operating System: Windows XP SP2
SketchUp Version: SketchUp Pro 6.4.112 (demo evaluation)
    V-Ray for SketchUp Version: 1.00.66

      Re: Crash- Parameter is incorrect

      Hi!

Same problem, also linked to textures I think.
It starts every time I try to render (preview/for real) this material:
      http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...artdown&id=138

I can reproduce the problem even with a new, empty file. It always throws the following error:

Windows - Pas de disque (Windows - No disk)
      Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75afbf9c 4 75afbf9c 75afbf9c
Notice it's always the same error, with 3x the same parameter (75afbf9c)
It doesn't seem related to file location: I had the texture on a network location and on my local disk, both same error.

      ---
VFS 01.00.73, SketchUp Pro 6.4.112, WinXP Pro SP2 FR
      Intel Core2 Quad 6600 (2.40GHz), 4GB RAM (3 recognized), NVIDIA 8800 GTS
      ---

I really need to render, so I'm willing to run some test versions in order to get the problems fixed (by the end of the week!?!)

      Please help,
      eph

Hey guys, thanks for the reports. Unfortunately, keeping track of these bugs on the forums really doesn't work out too well. Please fill out a bug report so we can focus on each of your individually.

Thanks again guys, the reports we're getting are starting to clear up some confusion about this error. We still haven't been able to get it to be reproduced on any of our machines, but hopefully we'll find the missing link soon.

Thanks for the quick reply, dkendig.
Actually I filed a bug report in the meantime as well, but I guess posting bugs in the forum makes a person feel less like he's the only one with problems
          Cheers

Yes. I had that error myself and at that time I could not find any info on the net, nor could the devs reproduce it. So it's nice to actually see other people having the same problems verifying that it's not a local problem.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
