  • Sun Settings + Render with IR

Hm. I use the default sun/sky settings after I place the V-Ray sun and finagle with Sketchup sun/shadow parameters to set a late afternoon/nearly evening tone.

And when I select a render type, I generally always choose IR_Very High but when I do, all the sun and sky settings revert to their most basic. I want to keep all the settings but still use IR to render.

The image looks usuable on the defaults, but is too tiny, too pixelated, and far too low quality. And IR map doesn't even recognize any of the sun settings.

    Thoughts? Perhaps I am unclear.

Loading a given Visopt will reset all of the parameters associated with that file. Since the visopt that you mentioned does not contain any of the environment or camera settings that you set up, there will be a significant difference when loading up the visopt.

Your best bet at the moment is to write down the IR settings and manually set them yourself so that the settings for your environment and camera do not get overwritten.
