  • Found perfect 3D tree, but now VRAY only renders the branches.

Ok - so I've been on the search for the perfect 3D tree to fit one of my projects and now I've finally found it. It fits my project PERFECTLY.

But now when I try and render it, only the branches are rendered, leaving a bare tree without the lush vegetation.

I know there has been some talk about components disappearing when rendering, but does anyone have any answers to why this occurs or better yet, solutions on how to remedy it? If necessary, I can attach the file if anyone wants to take a look at it.

I've not had problems with components, bbut groups tend to disappear. When I convert the groups to components they render fine.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Yea - I just tried converting it to component, but although it reads as a component, I still only receive rendered branches.

I would upload the file, but I'm afraid I do not know how. I'm looking at all the posting options for text and inserting links, etc, but no upload file tool button.

There's no upload button because we'd prefer not to host the gigs and gigs of files you guys would upload Instead you can use something like Box.net mediafire.com or a few other free hosting sites. Most of them make it easy and will provide you with codes and links to the file.
