  • SR 1.5- disappearing groups are back!

Sadly since installing SR 1.5, the disappearing groups bug from v.1.00 is back. The old workaround of saving and restarting SU fixes it every time it occurs, but it's sad to see the return of this bug.

I noticed that too. Didn't know a restart worked. I've always just converted them to Components.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

We actually got a report of this within 1.0.74 a few weeks ago. This was the first time I'd seen this since the first service release, so there's something still within our parsing process that still isn't catching everything. The parsing process is going to be getting some serious attention for a number of reasons, so we'll get this worked out.

I should also add that all my materials are now applied directly to geometry rather than groups or components, so I'm even more surprised that VfSU's parse is missing bits. To be honest this bug never bothered me that much before as it's so easy to workaround, but having made the leap across to v.1.00.74 just 2 weeks ago I was just getting used to not having to restart SU before every render.

That was actually one of the biggest culprits of geometry getting lost. SU didn't reliably tell us about materials that were applied to groups/components as a whole, so we had to make sure that the materials were applied to the objects within those groups/components.
