  • Exception: Memory allocation failure

    hello world!
I'm taking the first steps with v-ray ... way!
I am, however, unfortunately also struggling with frequent mistakes, errors that occur when mainly renders the scene to size "screen" (px1900x1050)
errors that occur both in Distributed rendering that in sessions without network ..
my laptop (the D90) ... should stand ... 4gb ram windows vista 64 bit ...

    MODEL INFO
    Edges 168,000
    41,000 faces
    istance component 750 --
    component definition 78
    Group 1111
(all materials are assigned to faces and not a group - component)

I think, and I hope that the problems rotate around these parametrima OF YOU WHO CAN 'MAKE LIGHT ON THEIR UNDERWEAR BEHAVIOR?
    1. Global switches> render X Batch render [off]
    2. Global switches> render X Low tread pryority [on]
    3. System> Raycaster params [] max Depth [60]
    4. System> Raycaster params [] min leaf [0]
    5. System> Raycaster params [] Face / level [2]
    6. System> Raycaster params [] mem limit [400] but I tried to raise up to [2200]

We would really need a more detailed explanation for these parameters of what is on the leadership of v-ray (for max ...) and running rigira say only what is already v-ray for sk says TIPS in the screen ...
provide explanations if someone really would be useful then to move the entire tutorial on ...

There also enclosed the message box is where, hopefully, clues about ... sorry if I post all render progress window mwssage but

    I'M DISPERATE

      Re: Exception: Memory allocation failure

Is this something that is persistant within the file. IOW, if you save the file, restart your computer, and re open the file, does it still pop up. Obviously it looks to be a memory issue, so the process of restarting the machine will clear the memory, and hopefully this issue as well. I've seen this once or twice recently, but its never been more than isolated cases of it.

          Re: Exception: Memory allocation failure

I'm not sure if there are any geometry check mechanisms in SketchUp. Bad Geometry, degenerate meshes, or what have you do cause V-Ray to choke on the render. There might be a ruby script that would could check that, but I'm not directly aware of any.

            Re: Exception: Memory allocation failure

By default SU checks for errors on save. Setting is located under Preferences->General
And you can manually ask it to check for errors from Model Info->Statistic->Fix Problems

But that's it. If you use that and still get errors it's weird...
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

              the problem is solved ...
              you want to laugh ...
I had to deliver with some urgency then I took the laptop on vacation with me ...
Here Since then no error has occurred more ...
              He needed vacation!
I must, however, actually say that I gave an "arranged" to the model, I exploded some group (not many in reality) and I started again CG material ruby (I swear that I had already done!)
Then, always the fault of despair mixed with haste, I tried to upload maps and IR LC that V-ray created (the mistake I made was undergoing final renderig ...)
From that point, although subsequent tests and the final image has been made with IR map recalculated from scratch every time I've had more mistakes!

however, promise that the next time i will send my problem to the stuff (sending the file) and not the forum ...
              I was very concerned ....

              P.S. This is a picture ....

Practically my first job with V-ray:
              nice! I really like

                Re: Exception: Memory allocation failure

Chances are there was just some faulty geometry within a group, and exploding fixed it, or one of the groups themselves were causing us an issue, and exploding fixed it.

As to not being able to use saved IR maps, that's a known issue and we're working on a solution for that. Its a really big issue in my eyes, so we'll try to get it worked out ASAP.
