    Re: sketchup project texture

Sorry Thom, I was editing my post while you replied. Like you say, using Photoshop terminology, stretching is fine and even skewing is fine, it's just perspective distortion which screws it up.

Could you post your test file if you still have it. I'm just trying to work out if there's any automated process that can be created. Need to see what works and doesn't.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

I didn't save it, but this one is the same principle. I left the image plane in from which the texture was projected onto the box.

          Re: sketchup project texture

Hmm... Projected textures works well, even if they are skewed. But positioned textures which is skewed doesn't... hmm...

I suppose it might be possible to make a plugin which convert a photomatch texture to projected texture. But I don't know how. UV mapping is a deadful thing to venture into with Sketchup.
...and...another problem... I don't think there's an API to access Photomatch scenes....

            Re: sketchup project texture

Ive fallen victim to this bug. Basically, I downloaded some 500 different building models from 3DWarehouse. Most of the building models there have textures which WERE skewed and such, from actual photographs.

So basically, I created this entire city with models from 3D Warehouse, and most of them didnt render correctly. Very frustrating.

What exactly is needed to render them correctly? Just to make the textures unique?

              Re: sketchup project texture

I hope to found the solution (i make a speed test and it work)

First: adapt your texture (the "original image") with pin ad apply the perspective distorsion,
Second: convert the "original image" to "unique texture"
Third: delete the "original image" from the material panel
Fourth: render and look the result
("original image" has the same name of the "unique texture", that's because v-ray fail, it take the "original" at the place of the "unique texture")

Hope it could work for you!!!

(sorry for my bad enghish )
