  • Shadows dissapear when lights are added-Not using physical camera

This is my first time posting and i cant find anything else on here about it.

Using the default vray settings, when i render a scene i get the shadow from the default light source, the same direction as in sketchUp itself, but when i add a light to the scene, no matter how dull it is , (and it is often on the interior of a building so should not affect the exterior shadows) the default shadows dissapear.

I know that using the physical camera solves this but i am not too keen on the results of the physical camera, and the time it takes to set up for each individual scene.

I was wondering if anybody has encountered this, and if there is something i am missing??

Did you check if the shadows enabled in the light edit window ?

Not at my work computer at the moment,

But the problem is not the shadows coming from the lights, thats fine, its like when a light is added to a scene (in default setting with only colours for the environment rather than vray sky) the GI environment is disabled, but only so far as the shadows dissapear. The scene is still lit fine.

The reason i am doing this is to just highlight some interior features through windows on a large development. I can go back to using the physical camera, just prefer the ease of using the default camera.

      Any further suggestions?

      maybe i'm just lazy....

I'm having trouble understanding your problem.
Can you post the render image, and SU scene (lights positions)?
