  • Lighting problem through frosted glass

Hi folks, I'm having a problem regarding the use of frosted glass in my scenes, in which the lighting gets all bugged, showing those rounded light beams throughout the wall. I'm using GI Skylight + Rectangle Light to get the lighting in my scene. Does anyone know why is this happening?

    Hi
If the rectangular light is outside the door, Try to move it to the inside. Also try to disable the Reflective and refractive caustic on the Indirect illumination rollout.

Check the "affect shadows" and "Affect alpha" in the refraction section of the material settings.

          It's a glossy refraction.
You need a glass with thickness, apply material to both sides. And set the refractive layer's glossiness to something below 1.0.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

hi. i've also had this problem. actually it happens a lot and not only by using frosted glasses nor rectangular lights and i'd really like to have an explanation.
it happens with the caustics disabled and with out refraction layers.
i've noticed this problem in dark sceenes with artificial light and emmiters, but those stings also appear sometimes in exteriors when i use the final parameters. the way i've helped this has been by increasing camera parameters, (less shutter speed, more film speed and less f number)and light sources as gi. but it's a real problem because generally i burn images trying to camuflage the spots
