  • problem with materials in groups or components

    hi to all...
some times when i create a linked material that is applied in a group, the whole group gets the material applied...
for instance... i have a palm tree with only two materials (the shaft and the leaves). if i create first the shaft material, it also applies to the leaves, and then it's impossible to go back. and if i apply the linked material to the leaves, it also gets applied to the shaft, and any way, and after re maping and creating the shaft material, IT GETS APPLIED TO THE LEAVES TOO!...
so, i render twice and mix the shaft and the leaves in PS... but there's gotta be another way
why does this happen and how can i help it?

Linked material? You're using the original version then.
I'm not sure, could be a bug in the old version.

The latest can be downloaded here at the ASGVis site.

but the new it has some other issues with groups/component materials - makes VfSU take an insane amount of time to parse the scene before rendering. (So you must only apply materials to faces only)
but the old was faster only because it incorrectly handled these things.

The current beta version has fixed this though. No issues with group/component materials.
