freezes on 'waiting for thread completion'

hello all, this is my first post in this forum

first of all i would like to apologize if this error has been attended to before, i did a search and didnt find what i was looking for.

now this is my problem:

when i want to render something (anything, even a simple model) it freezes when the 'waiting for thread completion' process is going on:


this has never happened before until maybe a week ago and now i cant render any of my models.

here are some pictures of this specific model i need to render:




and here are some test renders i did some time ago of the same model and you can see that it worked:


i removed all the vray lights and the infinite plane to see if it worked like that and not even then.

i have also uninstalled and re-installed sketch up and vray several times and it doesnt work either.

I have the same problem. ... Only whit me I freezes whit a file size of about 5mb. and up..
If I have a file below that range it takes a long long time to set up the 'thread completion'. and If I try to switch to an other program lets say PS vray will very easily crash...

SU 7 V-ray core 1.70.00 (versions 1.48.6
Quad Extream 9650 processor
4GB ram
GTX295 EVEA grafics card

I no how busy it is for the AGVIS team but It would be great If someone could help us out.

I think I actually came across this problem or a similar one today. I think my issue was linked to the save location of my render to file setting. I had moved the folder that I was previously saving to (even though I was not using the render to file option at the time). So I redirected my render to file location to a valid folder location, and I was able to render again (again, even though I wasn't using it at the time).

I know for a fact that was my problem, I hope someone else can benefit from my experience. Good luck.

We were able to identify a bug with our progress window, that was causing a delay similar to what EMIJOMO89 mentioned. It shouldn't be an issue in the current beta, we are still testing the patch to ensure that we don't release another version like we did last time. If anyone would like to sign up to be a beta tester and download the latest beta version, do so here:
(Keep in mind this is still in beta, because it's not good enough to be a stable release yet)
