  • Andeciuala's smart trees not rendering correctly

    Hey all,

I am having a huge headache rendering Andeciuala's smart tree. When placed directly into the model without exploding it will not show up in the render. If I do explode it ( I have to explode 3 to 4 times to even get the trunk and branches to render) only the trunk and branches are visible during renders. Lastly, when I explode the trees when it cannot be exploded anymore, the leaves/foilage/canopy does show up in the render but they are not transparent, the white background is clearly visible on each leaflet and the canopy glows!

I am at wits end with this, not sure what I am doing wrong.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks you,

I believe that the issue with that particular model has been brought to our attention a number of times, and any issues associated with that model have been fixed in our latest beta version.

The issue you explained where the leaves are not transparent, is from not checking the checkbox that uses the transparency of the texture, instead of using the material's default transparency. It's in the diffuse layer settings for that material in the V-Ray for SketchUp material editor.

It appears to be something with the diffuse bitmap which that smart tree uses that can cause of really odd colours when rendering.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

You are a gentlemen and a scholar, I heeded you advice and everything worked out fine.

        Thank you very much.
