  • Issues rendering on Imac using bootcamp XP

Hi I'am having Issues when rendering anything over 50mb.

Iam running Bootcamp XP on my Imac. Its a reasonable spec, (its an 08/09 model 24") and i have upgraded the RAM to 4GB. When it does render, it does it reasonably quickly, but when the file size is around 50mb or over it will either not render or it will crash. I will always reduce the SU file size by purging any unused materials or components and purge on the statistics tab.

It is getting quite frustrating. If there are tips, tricks or setting anyone knows i will be very, very grateful. Cheers, J

This has been discussed many times. SketchUp is a 32-bit process, so you're not going to be able to use the whole 4gb in your machine for a render. Only about 2gb gets used. After you pass the limit, you'll get a crash, or some sort of weird error. There also seems to still be some sort of memory leak in this release too, but we are working to resolve as many memory related issues as we can. Keep an eye out for updates to resolve this permanently in the future. In the meantime, I would suggest searching the forum for work arounds and suggestions.
