  • Problem with Displacement

hi guys, can you help me with the displacement? how can i properly map the displacement of tiles?

here's what i do, i edit the map in PS to a 600mm x 600mm grid, then i apply it to the tile material as a bump and displacement, but when it renders, the displacement dont show as 600x600. they are too small. can someone help me? tnx. ;D

    Re: Problem with Displacement

Hi, try to use only bump. Displacement you use only for stronger textures. For tiles, you can use just bump map.

You can import the image to apply on the floor, and in the bump map, you use the filter GRID. Adjust for the external lines BLACK and the inside square White.

Set up the black line thickness, and render. =D

Displacement its too low to render.

      Re: Problem with Displacement

This has been discussed many times on this forum, but it hasn't been a sticky topic until now. I just typed up the explanation of how to work around the texture placement issue that can occur in SketchUp when you don't have a diffuse texture set for your a material.

      I hope that explanation helps.
