  • Sketchup crashes when rendering glass - larger output

    Hello all,

I am having some problems with vray for sketchup on a mac with osX, and rendering a larger output of a fairly simple model.

-if i take out all the glass the model renders without problem.
-when I leave the glass in I can only to a certain output size, if i exceed this the program crashes.
-when the program does crash, it seems that it is around the location where there are stairs or other objects behind the glass.

To help I will say I have tried multiple types of glass, and I have been rendering with all of vray´s default settings. its appears that the program reaches a certain degree of complexity in the rendering and then crashes.

This is my first post so please let me know if there is anything else you kind people require. Thank you in advance.

    Regards
    Jason

( i tried posting the model to 3d warehouse but had some problems. i can try again but im hoping my problem is not so complex. thanks.)

Have you checked your memory usage? As mentioned in many places on our forum, if you hit ~2gb on a 32bit OS, or ~4gb in a 64bit OS, you're going to run out of memory and crash.
