  • The full list : "so that's why my v-ray doesn't work!"

    Hello all,
I thought I begin a thread of all the reasons V-ray fail to render and each could add theirs.

    1. Material’s names are problematic: sometimes they are not ascii : not made of regular numbers, or not in English...

2.V-ray can't find materials: make sure that the materials are from a folder in your computer and not only in the temp folder.

3.Too many rectangular lights it happens to me today: I had many spots in my model, each is a component of a spot with rec. light. vray just crashed. I had to change them to emissive lights and it worked.

4.One material is a problem: I found that a material I download from V-ray is causing my scene not to work.. it was the brushed metal coffee table. I changed it and it worked.

5.This one is from OzBOz (Oscar): don't use pure white or pure black in Su materials: the pure white (255,255,255) can cause over light bounces.

That is what I had so far... please write your own conclusion about stuff that can interfere with a render, so we could all learn how to render with less problems

    No one wants to share?

Another problem I found that causes a non-render is having a component of 2d tree\bush.

when I deleted the component, the file rendered just fine. (I'm guessing it has something to do with the testure inside the component).
