  • Help with Displacement and Bump for Vray Sketchup

Hello, my name is Rachel, and I am a newbie here.

I just started out learning Vray for Sketchup. I am trying to create a texture (brick) with a displacement/bump map (alpha B/W). No matter what setting I try adjusting, the texture still appears flat in rendering. The material looked correct in preview material. I've played with the multiplier setting, adjusting it from high numbers to low numbers. I have also adjusted the displacement settings under vray options. I tried to manipulate the option in Vray too. Nothing seems to work.

    Does anyone have some tips/tricks?

make sure your geometry is in a group or component, and only has one material per group/ component. Otherwise, displacement will not be recognized.

Thank you Andy for reply... I have problem with unit scaling... I guess that why I got problem? Is brick material need reflection and refraction as well? thank you

        Hi Rhutami,

What UV mapping do you use? Would it be possible to post the scene?

Is brick material need reflection and refraction as well?
Depends on the result you want to achieve. Do you have any issues when add them to object?
