  • GPU render issues

    Hi,
First I must thank you for the release of 3.4 vray for SKP. It is a great release!
But I have some issue, with the rendering from the GPU mainly.
1.First it seems to be some difference when i compare renders from the CPU and the GPU. Can someone tell me why there is such a big difference. Se the attached 2 renders. I believe that the bump map is the main cause on the texture of the apple, but htere is also a big difference when it comes to the spotlight (IES)
    2. Second, there seem to not be possible to get all render elements eg. materialId and renderId. This is crucial for my postproduction in photoshop.
    3. IES light stops working. THis have happened a couple of time when i turn on and of "override intensify". The only way I can get around this is by deleting the old IES and replacing them with new.

    Thank you in advance!

    /Axel

I don't know about the render elements—i have three save issue. But I do know for starters that there's a visual difference between CPU and GPU rendering because they're actual two separate engines with different characters.
Edit: I saw the original post on my phone... now on my computer I see the glaring differences! yikes.

      Hello,

Don't know if this is a bug or what, but I was playing around with IES and Omni lights in interactive, production render with CPU and GPU.
      I got different results.
Why are there so many differences in renderings?

Here is a link to renderings and scene.

      Thanks

The reason for different output is because some features are not fully or partially supported in GPU render mode (especially some textures). For more detailed information, please click here
